Previous experience is preferred but not necessary for most entry-level and relief staff positions. On-going training is provided to all CO-OP employees.

Residential Direct Care
Responsible for providing an array of services to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Various levels of support are provided in a number of areas including, but not limited to, personal care, life routines, finances, health care, and clinical services, recreational and social interests, developing relationships, and connecting to the community.

  • Part-time and full-time positions are available working 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
  • Relief/per diem positions are available
  • A negative TB test result and a physical are required for these positions

LPN

The LPN is responsible for implementing and monitoring an array of health care and other personal support services designed to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. LPN professionals working with CO-OP must be not only qualified but compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm.

Essential Duties:

  • Administer medications and implement nursing treatment plans
  • Confer with physicians, dentists, and therapists as appropriate
  • Communicate with and provide necessary information on relevant health issues to parents, guardians, and applicable staff
  • Respond to participant complaints of illness and recommend appropriate action
  • Confer with pharmacists regarding medications and their acquisitions as appropriate
  • Monitor seizure disorder records
  • Monitor general health status of participants, including hygiene issues and skin integrity
  • Administer minor first aid when necessary
  • Complete all health-related documentation requirements
  • Provide standard First Aid/CPR certification training and other assigned training to Agency employees

Requirements:

  • Current Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Practical Nurse
  • Experience working with individuals with ABI preferred; CO-OP will provide training
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, upon hire

Assistant Clinical Director
The Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director in the development, delivery, and monitoring of Agency Psychology services which a redesigned to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one of the following, be currently licensed in Massachusetts as a psychologist, clinical social worker, an applied behavior analyst, masters level speech pathologist (SLP), licensed mental health counselor, or have a master's in education with a certificate in special education.
  • Three years of training in functional-based behavioral assessments.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
  • Three years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.

Employment Specialist
The Employment Specialist is responsible for securing jobs for program participants and assisting in the development and growth of the agency’s employment services. This responsibility includes marketing, promotion, public relations, job development, employer training, job placement, job coaching, all other related duties, and serving as liaison to agency employment services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years relevant experience preferred or High School diploma or G.E.D. with three years relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with Employment is required
  • Ability to comprehend and write English at traditional Grade 12 level.
  • Physically capable of performing direct service duties designated in the job description and carrying items up to 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, the ability to drive Agency vehicles, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.

Day Program Instructor
Our Instructors are responsible for providing an array of vocational, self-help, therapeutic, and community-based activities designed to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Services include but are not limited to, case management; transportation; the development of social relationships; and providing support in the areas of work and recreation; and therapeutic and personal living skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Driver’s license & good driving record required
  • Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) & Fingerprinting required
  • Minimum of Two years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
